Below are some pictures taken by a buddy of mine from work. He went on a leisure drive when the “snowpocalypse 2011″ hit the midwest, Feb 1st - Feb 2nd 2011. 20 some inches of snow in Peoria, IL. Driving back from work, I heard there was freezing fog and thunder..what the fuck is freezing fog and thunder in winter? Anyway, it was nice to be able to sit in my pj’s, watch cnbc, have breakfast and work all at the same time.

Stay safe out on the road. Oh by the way, remember Illinios has just raised their speeding ticket fees from $75 to a whooping $120 for going 20 miles over the speed limit.

I hit a bump in the road and lost control. After fish tailing, flipping once and hitting a light pole this is what my car looked like. I was uninjured, only bruising from the seat belt and a bad headache.

Hit Tree in 1995 Camaro

Well I was riding down the road, rushing to get home so I was going about 85-90 mph, went to look down for a second and lost control and ran into the woods, the car first went through a barbed wire fence, then hit a tree on the back passenger side, causing the car to do a 360, hit another tree, and the car finally stopped when it hit a big oak tree head-on. Air Bags did come out, bumped my head on it, got a big goose egg on it, had some bruises, and have very bad pains in my knee now, but other than that I was fine.

Now, first, you have to realize that the truck is facing the wrong way. Look at it; it’s facing towards where it first crashed.

The truck must have hit a barrier or two, launched itself off of a guard rail, jumped! Jumped a massive storm drain! And either spun or tipped or both, in such a way that it was facing the other way.

Somehow it wound up sitting on a ridge, and not at the bottom of whatever that ridge sits on top of…

Camaro Crash

Yes, this was my 94 Camaro. If you look very closely on the right hand side of the fourth crash picture, you can see that the back end has been completely smashed to the other side. I am the dummy who did swerve from the deer. I swerved, hit a pothole, spun out of control, my back end smashed into a telephone pole which then whipped me around and as I slid into the woods I skimmed two more trees. The whole body kit was ripped off, the roof was caved in from the force of the backend being inverted the wrong way and my gas line was punctured. However in my defense, the thing was a huge buck and it probably appeared even larger from the eyelevel from a low rise camaro. My airbags never deployed and I walked away with a small bruise on my knee and a seatbelt burn.

Two weeks before: freshly coated paint, brand new body kit and SS hood.

Wreck in Ghana

We saw a lot of extremely oblique (hmm, is thats what it’s called in english?) and generally damaged cars driving around on the roads. This wreck we saw somewhere on the way south from Mole towards Bosumtwi. I have a strong belief in that the car is driving again on the road today:-)

We hope it’s over. We managed to walk away from this. I broke the window with my own rock-hard head. I was sitting in the passenger seat. My daughter was completely spared any injury, thank goodness. I have abrasions on my face & sprained my ankle. Jon cut his hand ripping open the door to get me out… Thank god we’re all okay.
